P.O.S
By Jimmy Giron
After opening the box and finding no black ink cartridge AND no USB cable, I was already in a foul mood. Now that I have the black ink cartridge (#4), it's telling me that it's an "unsupported cartridge." Seemed like a good deal, but now I know why it was so cheap. Should have gone with an HP.

Lexmark falls short in many ways.

The printer comes packaged with no Black ink cartridge. They tell you that you can buy this separately. All color prints come out looking washed out due to the lack of black ink. It comes with no USB cord, you will have to buy your own. It takes cartridge numbers 4 and 5 for the ink. I was directed to Staples and CircuitCity, neither had those cartridge numbers. The supplied color cartridge runs out real fast, I mean real fast. It lasted only about three weeks, probably less than 30 prints. The installed software has about (3) services running on your system (for what?). You get a pop-up message to buy ink online from Lexmark (great marketing idea). A strange message will pop up randomly on the screen about the scanner/camera wizard failing. This seems to be caused by one of the background services it has running. Turning off the printer/scanner does not stop the message. Use the search engine on Lexmark website for x2690, you get that the printer is not found.

No Ink found
By Becka Foley
After losing our home to a fire in July 2008 we were in great need to replace the computers we had since we have a daughter still at home in college. So since we had bought 3 others from Circuit City in the past 4 months for our other children we decided to go back. This time we bought another HP laptop and Circuit City had a promotion on for full refunds on a Lexmark printer, Norton and a laptop carrying case. We bought all three since we had had Lexmark printers in the past and had be pleased with.

But to my dismay I found no BLACK ink in the printer when we got home, only a color one. I went to Circuit City Friday, Sept. 14 to get one and they had NONE. I then asked for them to check in the back to see if all stock had been put out reply was yes, which took 30 mins. for a reply. I was then told their ink came in on Fridays and they still didn't have any, and had not had any for a couple of weeks. I went to the front to talk to a Manager to ask why they they would sell a product and not even supply INK for it. The manager told me it would in the next Friday and he already knew someone was looking for this INK. I then waited until late in the afternoon on Friday, Sept. 26, to make sure they had time to stock their shelves. To my dismay NO #4 BLACK INK. At the sales counter they stated they had no control over what stock they got in. I then went back up front to talk to a Manager. He too stated they had not control over what stock they got in. That it was not in their hands but corporate. I then told him I was told my a different Manager last Friday that INK would be in this Friday. I was very upset by this time as if I had known there would be NO INK I could have ordered it by mail and already had it in. The Manager was NO help. I also told them I would NO Longer shop at Circuit City. I have now decided to go back one more time, and that is to TAKE BACK this printer. I decided to write this because after coming home yesterday I got on LEXMARK site to order # 4 BLACK ink and the price was only $19.99 and but after shipping and Handling it was going to cost me almost $30.00 to get it. What a ripe off. I am also very upset with LEXMARK. Why sell a printer when there in NO INK available in the ONLY store in town that sells this printer.
